Ceramics Moulded Leather

Ceramics Moulded Leather is a technique developed together with Emma Dulucq.

It starts by creating tile shapes in ceramic; after firing, a wet sheet of leather is placed on top of the patterns and put inside a vacuum machine, creating an exact mold of the ceramic on the leather.

The dried sheets of leather have highly tactile qualities that slightly vary in each tile. There will never be two identical ones.

Light also plays an important role in highlighting the patterns, depending on which side the light is hitting, the amount of detail will increase or vanish.

The first materialisation of this technique is an origami bag, but its possibilities go beyond that, from furniture to fashion to architecture, etc.
